At 18 years old finding healthy treats that she could chew with her lack of teeth was a daunting task. Some treats were simply too rich for her elderly body to properly digest. Dentabones were a frightening experience as Kasey would try to swallow them whole! She was nothing if not determined!
Setting out to make a treat fit for Kasey, I came up with a crunchy peanut butter cookie that would crumble into pieces when pressure was applied, so she wouldn't hurt her gums when chewing. It was also small enough to be swallowed whole without being a choking hazard. Kasey loved them!
Kasey passed away in August of 2011 but her stubborn spirit lives on with the cookies that bear her name.
